CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: SCIENTIFIC PANEL ON FAMILY PLANNING/SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AND RIGHTS (FP/SRHR) THEMATIC LEAD

In addition to the already existent panels, the UAPS Council is establishing an additional panel focused on varying matters related to family planning and sexual reproductive health and rights (FP/SRHR) on the African continent. The panel is expected to be a platform for scientific discussions around the proposed theme, produce publications and reports related to the theme, and use their findings to engage with policymakers. The panel will contribute to scientific knowledge in FP/SHRH issues, promote greater networking among UAPS scholars, as well as encourage collaborative research and policy partnerships.

We invite UAPS members to submit applications for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Family Planning/Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Theme.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Qualifications, experience, and expertise in the area of Family Planning/Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
  2. Member of UAPS
  3. Capacity to dedicate at least eight (8) hours per week to the panel
  4. Description of why the applicant is the most suitable person to be the Chair or Vice-chair
  5. Demonstrated strong communication and leadership skills
  6. Demonstrated ability to fundraise for panel activities
  7. Demonstrated ability to speak and write English and French will be an added advantage.

Suggest New Scientific Panel

UAPS seeks to promote research, capacity building, and policy dialogue in specific areas of specialization in population and development. In line with this effort, the new UAPS Council is seeking suggestions from UAPS members for new thematic panels for the period 2020-2023.

If you wish to propose a new panel,

  • Consult the UAPS website to review current or past issues addressed by UAPS Scientific Panels
  • Familiarise yourself with the terms of reference for panel proposals in the form
