In its 38 years of existence, UAPS has undergone several changes over time while our logo, though distinctive has remained the same. The logo has been difficult to explain to members and the wider audience. Thus, the Council invested in the redesign of the Union’s logo to represent and project our uniqueness and commitment to leading the discourse on population issues on the African continent.

A designer was hired, and seven initial designs were presented to the Council members who then each selected their top three. The three with the highest number of votes were retained.

The final logo among these three was selected through virtual voting by the General Assembly.

The Council is excited to introduce to the general public the new logo for the Union for African Population Studies (UAPS/UEPA).
